At a fraction of turbine costs, the R44 Police Helicopter is designed, manufactured, and tested by Robinson as a complete FAA-approved police helicopter.
The R44 Police Helicopter is optimized for law enforcement activities including pursuit, patrol, and surveillance, thereby enhancing ground officer and citizen safety. Studies of law enforcement air support have proven a helicopter is equivalent to five or more ground units in terms of the ability to search an area effectively. As a highly visible law enforcement tool, the R44 serves as a constant deterrent to criminals.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY: The R44 Police Helicopter features R44 Raven II technology including a fuel-injected, angle-valve, tuned-induction IO-540 Lycoming engine which gives the helicopter additional payload, increased altitude performance, and more speed. A 28-volt electrical system is included along with state-of-the-art communications, navigation, and surveillance equipment.
Other Raven II features include hydraulic power controls and aerodynamic main and tail rotor blade tip caps to reduce flyover noise.
